Odu Godfrey Chukunweke; Nigerian journalist with the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA. Born in 1946, Odu Godfrey was a native of Ezi, Aniocha Local Government, Delta State. He graduated from the University of Lagos, UNILAG, where he obtained a first degree in Mass Communication. Odu’s journalism career started with the Nigerian Observer newspaper in Benin City, Edo State and joined NTA in 1974. While on the NTA he covered Alex Ekwueme, who was then the Nigerian Vice President between 1979 and 1983, the Senate and ministries of External Affairs and Petroleum Energy at the same time. He was also at many OPEC summits in Austria, Russia and England. Odu took ill while editing on September 25, 2003 and passed on 30 March at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH[i].
