Funlola Aofiyebi is an actress, recognizable by her fine diction, and tall headdresses. Dark and tall Aofiyebi has a certificate in Drama and Theatre Arts from the Westminster College, England. In 1996, as a student of the University of Lagos, she auditioned for and got the part of Ese in hit Nigerian movie ‘Violated’, in which she featured alongside popular actor and actress Richard Mofe-Damijo and Joke Silva. With the recognition that came followed her new role as Kofoworola Baker, the lead female character in ‘Palace’, which ran in 1998. Then came her performance as Tam Tam in Keeping Faith, followed by Doctors’ Quarters on M-NET and Vagina Monologues for the stage as well as Doctor Grace on BBC’s ‘Wetin Dey,’. In ‘Tinsel,’ one of the most popular Nigerian TV series, she played the role of Brenda Mensa, a prodigal daughter whose hatred for her father is the driving force behind her success. In 2009, Funlola starred in Kunle Afolayan’s cinematographic movie, The Figurine. She had married her husband, Raimi, who she met on the job, on Valentine’s day 2008.
