Kenny Ogungbe is a media entrepreneur whose foray into the music industry, together with friend, Dayo Adeneye, vivified the Nigerian urban culture from the early 2000s. Kenny had his secondary education at Federal School of Arts and Science at Ogoja in Cross River State. He studied Accounting at the Southern University, New Orleans and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication at the Southern University, Baton Rouge, both in the United States.
Ogungbe worked with Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation when he returned to Nigeria, but did not come into limelight till his days as presenter of entertainment program on the Africa Independent Television (AIT) of the DAAR Communications. From 1995 to 2000 he occupied top managerial position in the company, before going into private production and entertainment practice. The Kennis Music, which he co-founded produced music stars like TuFace and Jaywon. Kenny was appointed in 2012 to manage Nigeria’s premier private radio station and another entertainment radio station owned by DAAR Communications.
