Birch Freeman High School, located in 1. Akobi Cresent, Surulere Lagos, is a boys secondary school by the Methodist Mission, established in 1958 in affiliation with the Federal Ministry of Education. Admission into Birch Freeman is through the state education board examination. The school, like so many secondary school of its class declined over the years, especially in its facilities but a new rebirth is been experienced recently. An alumnus, Babatunde Fashola, as governor of Lagos state has helped the school in reclaiming some of its lands and aided the construction of a few new classroom blocks.
The school, though public, takes the feature of a moderate private institution, not only in name but also in its activities and facilities.
